Honda Ridgeline Sales Statistics and Market Trends
Honda’s reported U.S. sales series shows a model with substantial year-to-year movement. These are American Honda sales, not global sales, registrations or owner counts.

|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 32,168 | Honda-reported sales |
| 2021 | 40,177 | Honda-reported sales |
| 2022 | 43,502 | Honda-reported sales |
| 2023 | 52,001 | Honda-reported sales |
| 2024 | 32,527 | Honda-reported sales |
| 2025 | 55,231 | Honda-reported sales |

Honda’s 2023 release described 52,001 U.S. Ridgeline sales as the model’s all-time best annual performance within Honda’s model sales series. The same release reported 1,162,531 Honda brand U.S. sales in 2023 and a 31.9% increase versus 2022 at the brand level, so that percentage should not be treated as a Ridgeline-specific rate.
The 2023 launch release also reported 22.0% year-to-date Ridgeline growth at its December 2023 publication point. That is Honda’s release description of year-to-date growth, not an independent market estimate.

Honda Ridgeline Dimensions and Cargo Data
The 2026 U.S. specifications define the Ridgeline’s physical footprint and storage measurements. Equipment and configuration can affect actual vehicle details, while bed measurements refer to specific locations.
| 2026 measurement | Specification | Definition |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 210.2 inches | Listed trims |
| Width | 78.6 inches | Listed trims |
| Height | 70.8 inches | Listed trims |
| Wheelbase | 125.2 inches | Vehicle specification |
| Unladen ground clearance | 7.64 inches | Load changes clearance |
| Bed length, tailgate up | 64.0 inches | Manufacturer measurement |
| Bed length, tailgate down | 83.0 inches | Manufacturer measurement |
The bed is 50.0 inches wide at the wheel wells, 51.0 inches at the D-pillar and 60.0 inches at the bed walls. Those are location-specific widths, not one universal usable width.
Truck-bed cargo volume is 33.9 cubic feet, and the lockable In-Bed Trunk adds 7.3 cubic feet of separate enclosed storage. Each heavy-duty bed tie-down cleat is rated for 350 pounds, but a cleat rating is not the truck’s total payload capacity.

Honda Ridgeline Towing, Payload and Weight Statistics
The 2026 model-year ratings distinguish the total loaded vehicle, the loaded vehicle-plus-trailer combination, towing capacity and trim-specific payload.
| 2026 rating | Sport | RTL | TrailSport | Black Edition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Payload capacity | 1,583 lb | 1,544 lb | 1,521 lb | 1,509 lb |
| Curb weight | 4,420 lb | 4,480 lb | 4,495 lb | 4,504 lb |
The payload figures include occupants, fuel and cargo, so they are not a cargo-only allowance. The curb weights are unloaded vehicle measurements and vary with equipment.
Across the listed 2026 trims, maximum towing capacity is 5,000 pounds. The gross vehicle weight rating is 6,019 pounds, meaning the maximum loaded vehicle weight including occupants and cargo, while the gross combined weight rating is 9,986 pounds, meaning the maximum combined loaded vehicle and trailer weight.

Honda Ridgeline Fuel Economy and Price Statistics
EPA ratings are standardized estimates rather than guarantees of real-world fuel economy. The following 2025 U.S. ratings show how the listed trims compare under the same city, highway and combined format.
| 2025 trim | City | Highway | Combined |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sport | 18 mpg | 24 mpg | 21 mpg |
| RTL | 18 mpg | 24 mpg | 21 mpg |
| TrailSport | 18 mpg | 23 mpg | 20 mpg |
| Black Edition | 18 mpg | 24 mpg | 21 mpg |
Source: Honda Information Center – EPA Fuel-Economy Ratings. The 2025 listed trims have a 19.5-gallon fuel tank, but tank capacity is not the same as usable driving range.
For pricing context, Honda’s 2024 model-year MSRP table listed the following U.S. prices before destination charges:
- Sport: $39,750.
- RTL: $42,580.
- TrailSport: $44,980.
- Black Edition: $46,350.
MSRP is a manufacturer’s suggested price, not a transaction price. The pricing and EPA information is from Rugged, Refreshed and On-Sale: 2024 Honda Ridgeline and New Ridgeline TrailSport Begin Arriving at Dealers and the Honda Information Center – EPA Fuel-Economy Ratings.
Honda Ridgeline Crash-Test Injury Measurements
IIHS measurements below come from controlled crash tests using specific model years and configurations. They are dummy injury measures, not population injury rates or predictions of an individual crash outcome.
| IIHS test measure | Reported result | Test context |
|---|---|---|
| Driver-side small-overlap HIC-15 | 222 | 2017 RTL-T 2WD test |
| Driver-side chest compression | 24 mm | Driver-side small overlap |
| Driver-side neck tension | 1.2 kN | Driver-side small overlap |
| Passenger-side small-overlap HIC-15 | 352 | 2019 RTL 2WD test |
| Passenger-side chest compression | 16 mm | Passenger-side small overlap |
| Passenger-side right-knee displacement | 16 mm | Passenger-side small overlap |
In the updated-side test, the driver HIC-15 was 123 for a 2021 RTL 4WD test, with the rating applying to 2017–2026 models. Driver torso maximum deflection was 29 mm, while rear-passenger torso maximum deflection was 45 mm in that 2021 test.

Honda Ridgeline Lighting, Driver Assistance and Recall Statistics
IIHS headlight results are controlled illumination distances measured at 5 lux, not a complete measure of visibility on every road. For the test applying to 2021–2026 models, the useful illumination distances were:
| Beam and edge | Useful illumination |
|---|---|
| Low beam, straightaway right edge | 94.8 m at 5 lux |
| Low beam, straightaway left edge | 49.1 m at 5 lux |
| High beam, straightaway right edge | 122.6 m at 5 lux |
| High beam, straightaway left edge | 99.6 m at 5 lux |
In IIHS vehicle-to-vehicle front crash-prevention testing for the 2026 model, the Ridgeline avoided the collision at 31 mph with a centered passenger-car target. At 37 mph with that centered target, IIHS recorded 20 mph of speed reduction; these are controlled scenarios, not crash probabilities.
The NHTSA 26V332 recall report identifies potentially involved vehicles from manufacturing records. It lists 4,956 potentially involved 2017–2021 Ridgelines produced from June 30, 2016, through May 18, 2021, plus one 2023 Ridgeline produced September 8, 2023, and one 2025 Ridgeline produced October 30, 2024.
The recall counts represent potentially involved vehicles, not confirmed defect incidents or failure rates. Sources: 2026 Honda Ridgeline and Part 573 Safety Recall Report 26V332.
